Regina, Saskatchewan Selected to Host the 2028 Canada 55+ Games

National event returns to the City where it all began.

The Canada Senior Games Association (CSGA) is proud to announce that Regina, Saskatchewan has been selected as the host city for the 2028 Canada 55+ Games, taking place August 29 to September 1, 2028.

Following a rigorous national selection process, the CSGA Board of Directors has chosen Regina to welcome athletes, participants, and supporters from across Canada. The decision marks a meaningful full-circle moment for the organization — Regina hosted the very first national Canada 55+ Games in 1996.

“We are thrilled to be returning to Regina,” said Dave Finn, President of the Canada Senior Games Association. “The city has a proud history of hosting premier sporting events, and we know our members will feel right at home thanks to the incredible volunteers and community spirit Saskatchewan is known for.”

With planning already underway, the 2028 Games promise to bring together thousands of participants from coast to coast in celebration of active living, friendly competition, and community connection — all in the heart of the Canadian prairies.

Additional details regarding registration timelines, venues, accommodations, and volunteer opportunities will be shared in the coming months.

For now, we invite our members and partners across the country to join us in celebrating this exciting milestone for Regina and for the Canada 55+ Games movement.
